Chair

After starting his working career at Jaguars with a student apprenticeship, Charles spent 25 years at Sainsburys as an Engineer and project Manager, progressing to become Construction and Facilities Director. He then joined MDA Consulting as Chair and CEO, providing a multi discipline property development service to UK and international clients.

In 2008 Charles joined Sport England as Property Director responsible for capital investment including the infrastructure for the 2012 London Olymopic Games.

Most recently Charles worked with the UK Government to promote and secure £100m National Leisure Recovery Fund that protected public leisure provision following the pandemic.

In addition to his current role as Director of Unify, Charles is a Trustee at London Marathon Foundation, Elite Sports Advisor to Manchester Active, and Independent Board member on the DCMS Grassroots Facility Programme Board.

A qualified Mechanical, Electrical Engineer and Project Manager, Charles studied an MBA at City University Business School.
